DescriptionFloral design carpet: ghiordes knot; approximately 86 knots per sq. inch; 2 shoots pink wool wefts after each row of knots. Colors: Ground: field- medium blue, outer guard band- medium blue, border, inner guard band abd 4 medallions- creamy white. Pattern: creamy-white, light blue, medium-blue, red and dark brown. The field has a floral pattern. The 3 lobed medallions, arranged in the vertical axis, contains a rosette with palmettes at 8 points. The medallions are connected by stylized cypress trees with floral stems. each medallion sends out into the field 4 large lanceolated leaves with floral stems. At each end, enthwise, are 3 stylized cypress trees, with floral stems alternating with angular palmettes and containing floral stems. The intervening spa ces of the field have floral sprays of peach blossoms. The border is decorated with a series of palmettes alternating with stylized cypress trees. the inner and outer guard bands have a pattern of trefoils.Construction History
