DescriptionCarpet: Ghiordes knot; about 77 knots per square inch; two shoots reddish wool wefts after each row of knots. Colors (6) Ground: field-red, star medallion- dark blue, border-dark blue, gaurd bands-creamy-yellow; Pattern: white, creamy-yellow, light blue, dark blue, green red. The field has two-eight-pointed star-shaped medallions alternating with lozenges, both decorated with interlaced arabesques with half palmettes forming various devices. Along the edge of the field are sections of medallions and lozenges. The rest of the field has a pattern of floral scrolls bearing palmettes and leaves. In the border a wavy arabesque scroll interlaces with a floral scroll bearing palmettes. In the inner guard band is a zig-zag band.17th century
