DescriptionFloral design carpet: Ghiordes knot; aproximately 90 knots per sq. inch; 2 shoots wool wefts after each row of knots. Colors: Ground: field-yellow, border- red, guard bands- white; Pattern: white, yellow, pink, orange, red, lilac, light blue, med. blue, dark blue, green, black. The field has a floral pattern of vertical rows of large composite palmettes separated by lanceolate leaves. The center of the field is indicated by 2 palmettes. Between the lanceolate leaves, which are overlaid by floral scrolls, appear smaller palmettes framed by 2 small lanceolate leaves. On the outside of the large lanceolate leaves are placed3 small heart-shaped compartments and a cartouche. Here and there in the intervening spaces are placed rosettes. The border has a repeat pattern of S-bands separated by star motifs and floral scrolls.
