DescriptionDragon design carpet. Ghiordes knot; approx. 64 knots per square inch; 2 shoots pink wool wefts after each row of knots. Colors: (8) Ground colors: field: dark blue border: creamy yellow inner guard band: red Outer guard band: blue. Pattern colors: white, pink, red, violet, purple, light blue, dark blue, dark brown.
The field has a lozenge pattern formed by large serrated leaves. The large and small compartments are decorated with large composite palmettes and stylized dragons.
The border contains a wavy floral scroll with large palmettes and leaves. Each guard has a zigzag line. (July 1965 Curator Work Sheet)
