DescriptionPalmette design carpet of ghiordes knot; about 56 knots per square inch; one shoot double wefts (one tan, one brown), after each row of knots. Colors: Ground: field- blue with abrashes, border- gold, guard bands- red, palmettes- lt. blue and lt. gold. Pattern: Lt. red, dk. red, lt. blue, med. blue, yellow, gold, lt. green, dark brown, black. The field is composed of large fan palmettes bearing small flower palmettes alternating with large oval cartouches bearing flower palmettes. the intervening field shows stylized tulips, small palmettes, serrated leaves, and trailing tendrils bearing small rosettes and leaves. The main border palmettes alternating with rosettes, connected by waving stems with leaves. The guard bands have a simple wavy line motif.Construction History
