DescriptionDragon design carpet: Ghiordes knots; about 100 knots per sq. inch; 2 shoots of e wefts after wach row of knots. Colors: Ground: field-red, border- ivory; Pattern: blue, red, green, mauve, ivory, black, rose, gold. This example of a late so-called dragon rug features 4 degenerate or misunderstood dragons in the field. Other field designs include highly stylized leaf and palmette forms, latch hook and other geometric devices typical of Caucasian carpets. A series of hexagons forms the design of the narrow border.
