DescriptionRed bodied mug of inverted bell shape with flattened loop handle. Exterior coated from rim to 3/4" above base with cream colored slip. Four turned lines incised through slip above complicated horizontal band of decoration, three lines below. Complicated decoration composed of alternating vertically oriented foliate and "X" patterns cut through slip to body. Handle unslipped. Overall, but base, coating of pale yellow lead glaze.ca. 1650
