DescriptionSoup tureen: short foot rises to ogee-shaped oval body; two extruded bail-shaped handles applied horizontally to the upper shoulder of each short side. The domed cover with bezel that fits down inside the lip of the body; topped by a single handle ensuite with the handles on the side of the body. The creamware body and cover painted with botanical specimens and identified under the foot in black enamel uppercase letters as “FUMARIA SOLIDA. SOLID-ROOTED FUMITORY.” and “TROLLIUS ASIATICUS. ASIATIC GLOBE-FLOWER.” and under the cover in black enamel as “PLUMBAGO ROSEA. ROSE-COLOURED LEADWORT.” and “LINUM ARBOREUM. TREE FLAX.” Under the lid and the foot is the number 38 incised in script.
