DescriptionHigh post bed: maple pencil-post consisting of four posts; head board; head, foot, and side rails, all stained red; and four lapped yellow pine tester-frame strips (modern) with pendant hooks for curtain rods (modern) sit over iron pins in tops of posts. Posts are tapered and chamfered above and below the rail mortises. The rails are square in section and bored with holes for rope. The headboard is plain except for quarter circle scalloping of the upper corners. Painted or stained red.1790-1820
