DescriptionA composition of fruits in a shallow basket, a cut watermelon forming the dominant feature.
The 1 7/8-inch frame, painted brown, is a period replacement.
Label TextRose hues shade the center of the watermelon, cherries, and berries of this theorem. The sharp geometric lines at the basket's base probably indicate its weave. The size of the design must have exceeded the artist's expectation because the grape stems continue on to the selvage at the upper edge.ProvenanceR. C.
