DescriptionDutch Delft flower pagoda consisting of seven stackable sections (an eighth section is missing.) Each section is hexagonal and has six to seven protruding spouts for inserting flower stems and/or fillng the section with water. Each section rests on the next section by means of a flange on the bottom except the second section which rests on six "snail-shaped knobs; each of the stackable section (except the base and top) are divided on the interior into compartments for holding the water; this prevents air pressure form forcing water out of the lower placed spouts; when assembled, the pagoda appears as a tall narrow pyraid encircled with the spouts which spiral to the top section; its overall height is 51 3/8"; it has beem glazed overall with the typical pale milky blue primary glaze onto which, in a cobalt blue glaze, scene of cherubic fountains in somewhat idealized architectural settings have been paintedMark(s)Marked "A.K."
