DescriptionDutch Delft flower pagoda consisting of seven stackable sections (an eighth section is missing). Each section is hexagonal and has six to seven protruding spouts for inserting flower stems and/or filling the section with water; each section rests on the next section which rests on six "snail-shaped" knobs; each of the stackable sections (except the base and top) are divided on the interior into compartments for holding the water; this prevents air pressure from forcing water out of the lower placed spouts; when assembled, the pagoda appears as a tall narrow pyramid encircled with the spouts which spriral to the top section; its overall height is 51 1/2"; it has been glazed overall with the typical pale milky blue primary glaze onto which, in a cobalt blue glaze, scenes of cherubic fountains in somewhat idealized architectural settings have been painted.Mark(s)Marked "A.K." for Adrianus Kocx of the Greek A Factory.
