White tin glaze: neck, handle, rim, and spouts painted blue; body decorated in two shades of blue with flowers, a bird perched on a large scroll, and the inscription "W L / 1727."Label TextThe trick of a puzzle jug is to drink some of the contents, presumably beer, without spilling. The solution is to cover up the hidden hole under the handle as well as the two spouts not being used. The hollow handle works as a siphon and draws the liquid, avoiding the pierced areas.
