DescriptionLarge pottery jar with a grayish-green glaze. Two handles are molded on either side of the lip. The numeral "5" within a decorative circle has been applied to two sides in a cream-colored slip.Label TextThis storage jar has lateral lug handles on either side of the jar openings, a slightly everted rim, and a capacity mark. This vessel is ash-glazed and looks as if it has a thin layer of glass on the surface. You can even see where the glaze has run in rivulets down the side near the handles.ProvenancePart of the AARFAC unaccessioned collection. Date and type of acquisition unknown. Been noted on old inventory lists since 1980.
