DescriptionThis nearly square double cloth coverlet fragment is made from red, green, blue, brown, and white stripes with a yellow floral medallion pattern. The fragment is two panels sewn together with a whip stitch. One edge is a selvedge, but the other three are raw and fraying.Label TextThis colorful coverlet was woven on a jacquard loom. Jacquard looms worked with punch cards that dictated which warp threads were raised to create a pattern, making them the first computers.Mark(s)No marks, signatures, or inscriptions.ProvenanceThis piece has been in the AARFAC collection for many years but was never accessioned.
