Descriptioncream ewerLabel TextPewter cream ewers of this fashionable silver pattern and engraved with running borders and a large central cartouche are a function of the Britannia metal trade in Sheffield. Its elegant body is made of rolled sheet metal with a seam running vertically behind the handle. The fact that this cream ewer, like a sugar basket or basin in the CWF collection (accession 1998-152), share the same stamped "3" pattern number indicates that they were intended to be used together.Inscription(s)NoneMark(s)Touch mark "I"VICKERS" on underside of base (Scott 467). Probable pattern number "3" stamped on underside of base. ProvenancePurchased from George Broadbent, Scranton, Pennsylvania.
