DescriptionLow post bedstead: Bowed headboard slotted into turned and tapered posts with baluster shaped legs, incised line around top edge of posts; chamfered rails on sides, head and foot; fitted for rope mattress; cabriole foot legs with pad feet on discs.Mark(s)"PA" on footrail (probably 20th century), unreadable 20th cent. inscriptions on rails, Roman numerals at various joints.ProvenanceAcquired by vendor from Mr. and Mrs. John Halford who had acquired it from the same vendor in 1915.
