DescriptionCylindrical vessel with everted lip and six round holes in the top set in a circular pattern around a seventh central hole. Bluish tin glaze decorated in blue: on the top, overall glaze; on the sides, one large branch wraps around to meet a small, flowering branch. Base flat and unglazed.Label TextThis piece is similar to a sand caster, or sander, that is paired with an inkwell of the same size and shape, both of which fit into a rectangular stand about the size and shape of an inkstand such as CWF accession 1958-308. Unlike this one, the pair with that stand are not decorated on their sides, which would not be visible.Inscription(s)NoMark(s)NoProvenanceA. F.
