DescriptionFooted salver: broad circular top in form of plate with narrow rolled rim, short concave booge, and flat base: top supported on tall central stem with circular disc attachment; main section of stem of hour-glass form with contracted and molded center on domed convex-sided base. Uninscribed as to owner.Inscription(s)NoneMark(s)Touch mark a wheat sheaf with a hare sejant to the right framed by "EDWARD" in an oblong rectangle above, a pilaster to either side, and "LEAPIDGE" in an oblong rectangle below, all within a square on underside of well (Cotterell 2894). Secondary marks (1) label "E:LEAPIDGE/ LONDON " within a curved and outlined reserve with boldly scrolled lower edge below touch mark on underside of well (Cotterell 2894) and (2) quality "X" with crown above stamped over pseudo hallmarks on underside of well. Pseudo hallmarks (1) EL,"(2) sheaf of wheat, (3) leopard's head, and (4) buckle, all within shaped shields on underside of well (Cotterell 2893 and 2894).
