Descriptionsoup tureenLabel TextThis pattern of soup tureen seen in English pewter as early as 1750s through the first quarter of the nineteenth century. In the present instance, there is later neoclassic detailing to the handles and feet. This tureen is inscribed "TRINITY HOUSE" for the Corporation of Trinity House, an association of English mariners. Originally headquartered in Deptford, Kent, they moved their headquarters from Water Lane, Lower Thames Street, London, to Trinity House, Tower Hill, in 1795.
