DescriptionTeaset composed of a teapot and stand (1A&B), cream pot (2) and open sugar dish (3). All hallmarked for Edinburgh, Scotland, 1815-1816. Silver teapot, cream pot, and open sugar dish each with a circular stepped foot with narrow gadrooned collar supporting a compressed globular body with tightly-spaced straight lobes or gadroons and incurved neck and flared rim with cast collar of gadroons and four clusters of shells, acorns, and oak leaves.
Teapot with stepped shoulder with gadrooning beneath a hinged, domed lid with a circle of gadrooning surmounted by at pomegranate finial with threaded post and nut attachment. S-shaped square spout opposite square-shaped C-scroll handle with reeded outer face, acanthus-leaf grip, and two ivory insulating rings.
Teapot stand with four winged animal-paw feet supporting a stepped circular surface with cast collar of gadroons and four clusters of shells, acorns, and oak leaves beneath plain convex band and band of gadroons. Plain center with later monogram engraved [over erased area?]
Open sugar dish with two open scrolled acanthus leaf handles with double lower junctures.
Cream pot with wide everted pouring lip, two clusters of shells, acorns, and oak leaves on gadrooned rim, and one open scrolled acanthus leaf handle with double lower juncture.
