DescriptionOval chamber pot or coach pot: elongated waisted eliptical shape, the rim turning in, tapering towards the base; ear-shaped loop handle applied to one end. Painted in underglaze blue with a trellis diaper border at the rim and flower clusters with rockwork around the body; four painted scrolls flank the handle terminals and elongated scroll forms decorate the handle.Label TextElongated chamber pots were often listed as “coach pans” in 18th century documents, referencing their intended use during travel.
