DescriptionChamber pot: slightly bulbous body with tapered foot and broad flat rim, corded underneath; below the cording, the rim painted in blue cobalt with a downward facing double-scalloped border; a single loop handle applied to one side and dabbed with blue cobalt at the upper and lower terminals.Label TextAs might be guessed, chamber pots were frequently discarded when broken or damaged. That makes them rare survivals above ground today. Even more scarce are examples made in America, like this New York piece decorated with a scalloped blue border.ProvenancePurchased from: Robert R.
