DescriptionModel of eight-legged spider; wire legs wrapped with brown silk thread that end in knots; body of brown silk composed of large circle for torso and a smaller circle for head, ending in two wire antennae with knots at the end. Body and head is braided needlework and coiled into a circle. Spider is mounted on square cord. Fits in square lacquered black box with hinged lid.ProvenanceEx coll. Percival Griffiths.
