DescriptionA "scratch blue" salt-glazed stoneware punch bowl with cylindrical footring. The exterior has two large floral sprays with a bird incorporated into both of them. There is a rouletted blue border around the exterior rim of the bowl. It is also inscribed ".E : P." over the date "1752" on the exterior of the bowl. The interior rim and center of bowl are decorated with floral sprays.Inscription(s)Once side incised with ".E : P." over date "1752".ProvenanceIn 1995, acquired from Garry Atkins (London, England) by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (Williamsburg, VA) where it remains to the present.
