DescriptionSmall circular plate of ogee shape decorated with overglaze blue and gold in the cornflower pattern.Label TextThe cornflower pattern on this plate copies that found on French porcelain of the period. Thomas Jefferson among other Americans owned French porcelain decorated with the same motif. This Chinese porcelain plate may have been a replacement piece for a French porcelain service.
