DescriptionOval china glaze (pearlware) plaque molded in low relief and painted in polychrome enamels is a pottery shop scene showing a potter throwing on a wheel, assisted by a boy turning a large wheel, and another boy kneading clay; a smoking bottle kiln is seen through the shop window, and inside the shop are wares on shelves. The reverse is painted in script with the following: "Model'd In the Year / 1795 by J Williams / & Colour'd by H Clarke".Inscription(s)The reverse painted in script: "Model'd In the Year / 1795 by J Williams / & Colour'd by H Clarke".
