DescriptionA pair of enamelware hexafoil-lobed dishes, possibly made for the Imperial market. Each with white interior ground finely painted with two flitting butterflies, two crickets, a spray of gourds, flowers and foliage, and other scattered sprigs of flowers and fruit. The exterior yellow ground decorated with a blue floral spray on each lobe and central four-character marks in black. Circular foot ring also enameled with the same yellow ground. The foot and the rim of the dish edged in copper that bears traces of gilding.ProvenanceFrom the Estate of Murray F. Nimmo.
