DescriptionEnamel on copper alloy pot de creme: squat bombe body with low circular foot; the body painted a deep blue ground and two cartouches reserved in gilt scrolls, further enriched with colored flower spray and raised white panels of dotted trelliswork and with loop handle and gilt metal mounts. Similarly decorated pressure-fit flat circular cover with baluster finial. Note: this item was orginally cataloged as a mustard pot, but the absence of a cutout for a mustard spoon suggests it may be a pot de creme.ProvenanceChristie, Manson & woods, Ltd.
