DescriptionTriple-shell sweetmeat or pickle dish composed of three large, deep shells on an open-work coral and shell encrusted base, the whole surmounted by a coral mound supporting a whelk shell. Coral base and mound and smaller shells painted overglaze in famille rose enamels predominantly in shades of pink, green, blue, yellow, iron-red and gray. Interior of large shells painted overglaze with famille rose enameled floral sprays, rockwork, and a yellow tiger-like animal.ProvenanceJill Fenichell, Brooklyn, New York
