DescriptionCream jug of complex silver form. The body comprised of three stacked shells, with incurvate neck. The pouring lip arched outward and the mouth a series of irregular scrolls. The handle composed of stacked C-scrolls to give the effect of an ear-shape. On spreading pedestal base with shell molding and irregular edge. The underside of the base concave and irregularly trimmed to form a flat foot of varying dimension. The creamy-gray glaze smooth in texture with some stained crazing. Kiln movement evident, particularly in the alignment of the pouring lip and handle. The decoration in overglaze polychrome enamels. The scrolls picked out in teal, magenta, and yellow.
