DescriptionPlate in "Imari" colors with underglaze cobalt blue decoration and over-glaze iron oxide enamels and gilt highlights. Center of plate with large chrysanthemum motif and arabesques. Cavetto with lattice-work and four cartouches, each with different design, perhaps a combination of "pictures," "scrolls," and "lozenges," a selection of motifs with auspicious meanings in China. The rim with four large floral sprays, two centered by lanterns (symbols of cheer and festivity) and two centered by large flowers, possibly peonies. Three overglaze iron-oxide enamel flowers to verso of cavetto. Blue-Gray glaze over a beige body, with few inclusions to underside.Inscription(s)Rectangular paper label with"Food--
