DescriptionContinental currency. "The United Colonies FIVE DOLLARS. FIVE DOLLARS. This bill entitles the Bearer to receive FIVE SPANISH MILLED DOLLARS, or the Value thereof in GOLD or SILVER, according to the resolutions of the CONGRESS, held at Philadelphia, the 10th of May, 1775.

Serial No. "26948".

Coombe was Assistant Minister of Christ Church and St. Peter's in Philadelphia, he became a tory and left Philadelphia in 1778 and was appointed Chaplain in Ordinary to King George III in 1794.

Lewis was a prominent Philadlephia merchant from an old Philadlephia family, and died in 1776.
