DescriptionEarly-type saw set with a rectangular shank, curled over at its end to form hanging loop, and a rectangular blade of lenticular section, cut with a single tooth slot on one side and two on the other.Label TextUsed to set the teeth on very large blades like those on pitsaws and crosscut saws, this beautifully wrought tool was found in the early 1950s in a Williamsburg house.ProvenanceFound c.1953 in the "Old Hankins House" on South England St. in Williamsburg (owned by CWF at the time).
