DescriptionMug, tapered straight-sided cylindrical body with molding at rim, fillet mid-band below center, and tall outward-flaring base; conventional hollow S-scroll handle of D-shaped section with scroll grip and bud terminal.Label TextThis was a particularly popular pattern of mug in Connecticut. Members of the Danforth family produced such mugs in a variety of sizes from at least the 1780s until well into the nineteenth century. Joseph Danforth I used these particular marks, especially on mugs.
