DescriptionRound candlestand with lighter maple inlaid star at center of dished top with a molded edge; tall turned tapered pillar with urn near base; three boldly shaped cabriole legs with narrow pad feet.Label TextThis candlestand relates to a group of furniture produced in southern Worcester County, Massachusetts in the 1790s. The unusual shape of the leg on this stand is similar to pieces made by Nathan Lombard and Oliver Wight of Sturbridge, with whom Lombard trained. Given the similarities to Wight's work, this stand may have been made by him or another cabinetmaker in southern Worcester County or northern Windham County, Connecticut who was familiar with his work.1770-1790
