DescriptionVelvet fragment with tan colored ground and raised floral pattern; green floral basket and scrollwork motifs with red and orange flowers, green leaves, and red berries. Cotton tape with two metal grommets sewn to one side.Label TextDuring Colonial Williamsburg's Restoration period, they worked with a variety of scholars, artisans, and companies to furnish historic and reconstructed buildings onsite. One of these companies was Lenygon & Morant, founded in 1915 when cabinetmaker Frances Henry Lenygon purchased Morant & Co., a London-based upholstery and interior decorating business.
