DescriptionInfant child's cap knitted of fine white cotton in an open, lacy pattern. Cap is trimmed around the face edge with a heavily beaded border of roses in shades of pink, additional flowers in bright blue, and leaves of green. Around the crown are seven individual bouquets of blue flowers, pink buds, and grape-like clusters in purple. Back of the crown is knitted in a 7-point star. A narrow, light pink satin ribbon has been threaded through the lower edge of the back and an ivory colored one along the lower front. A lace trimming of darned bobbin net forms a ruffle around the face. Ties are made from cotton twill tape. No lining.ProvenanceEx coll: Mrs. DeWitt Clinton Cohen, 25 Sept. 1945.
