DescriptionWhite cotton apron with bib embroidered with white cotton in a chain stitch (tambour embroidery) with drawn work fillings. On three sides of the skirt a repeating motif of a symmetrical arrangement of leaf pairs; scalloped edging finished with ? stitch. Across the bottom section of the apron is a row of diamonds framing an identical flower spray. The bib is inset into the waist of the apron. The border is the same as the skirt's. In the center, suspended from the border, is a diamond framing a flower spray cf. the skirt. Orginal waistband and ties-narrow linen tape in plain weave.ProvenanceEx Coll.: Mrs. DeWitt Clinton Cohen
