DescriptionTea jar or caddy: short cylindrical foot supports body of ovoid shape that rises to a tall cylindrical neck; domed lid with pronounced brim and flower knop. Decorated with cornucopia shaped claret border at the high shoulder; the sides painted with two large clusters of fruit and flowers. The lid similarly decorated with small flower sprays and green leaves in reserves on a claret ground. Elaborate tooled gilding on the claret borders. The decoration referred to as the "Hope-Edwards" pattern.ProvenanceSelwyn Parkinson Collection
