DescriptionMarrow spoon. Plain bowl and gauge.Label TextMarrow spoons with conventional spoon bowls and narrow channeled handles for the removal of marrow from bones first appear about 1690. Early examples, often included in traveling sets, are sometimes engraved and gilded. Late seventeenth-century examples are rarely fully marked.
