DescriptionOctagonal, press molded plate with flanged edge and a relief border of alternating diaperwork and cartouches in pattern K2 in SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE IN EARLY AMERICA. With later polychrome enamels in the "Sailor's Farewell" scene, comprising a man and women embracing. The man in red-brown trousers, green and yellow striped shirt, and blue jacket. The woman in red and yellow dress. Both on an outcropping with island in background. Enamels applied in green, yellow, and purple to highlight design and creating border of diapering and floral sprays in cavetto. Beige-grey body with heavy black flecks and matt surface.
