DescriptionRimless stand with shaped edge and with footring; three shaped reserves in blue ground filled with birds as on cover and central circular reserve filled with insects; mostly intact gilding incorporates dentils around edge, husk pattern around center reserve, and trellises and flowers around shaped reserves.

The I in gilt with the anchor on the stand may be an initial of the painter or gilder, or perhaps a roman numeral indicating that this was one of a pair of tureens.
