DescriptionCopperplate print: in blue on tabby-woven natural ground. This design, which is less than a full repeat, shows (1) classical ruins out of which grows a twisted oak tree. perched in the tree is a large crested bird with a long tail. Adjacent to this is a triple- arched gateway through the center of which a man is walking. Another part of the design (2_ shows a classical urn atop a stone arch and a pyramid-shaped stone fountain beneath oak trees. Morning glory vines and peony blossoms with trailing stems and leaves are used to fill the intervening spaces.
