DescriptionFlat, circular top braced by single, broad, slightly shaped brace on underside; turned, baluster shaped shaft, with ring turnings at top and bottom; three plain, cabriole legs with flat sides, terminates in high, pad feet, are dovetailed to base of shaft.Mark(s)Branded "PEE" once beneath top and once on underside of braceProvenanceJudging by the brands beneath the top, this table once belonged to Peter Edmund Elmendorf (1764-1835). It may be the "Cherry Stand very old" listed in the inventory of his estate taken in 1836 (See copy in OF). It probably descended to his daughter Maria who married Peter Sanders; to their son Charles P Sanders, to his son Charles P. Sanders II; to their son J. Glen Sanders whose widow Pearl sold it with the rest of the Scotia furnishings to the Vendor.1760-1790
