DescriptionNearly cylindrical trunk with flattened base; covered all over, except base, with hide; decorated with brass tacks in rectangular patterns on strips of leather; leather hinges; six rectangular iron plates secure ends, two on top and one on front at each end; heart-shaped iron backplate and bail on ends (proper right bail missing); rectangular lock plate in center, front with iron hasp from lid; two short rectangulear strap of leather or hide nailed to front towards ends with brass nails forming triangle at each end; thin narrow board nailed to bottom along front edge (rear board missing); interior lined with blue paper (only remnants remain).Inscription(s)"W & {Y} P N --" painted on base
