DescriptionTea Chest: rectangular tea chest with hinged lid; lid with flat top of figured mahogany veneer, coved edge, and short straight sides; bead between cove and flat sections and around base of lid; corners rounded; rococco brass bail handle and round rosettes attached to center of lid; lid hinged on brass butt hinges at rear; chest with straight sides, front of figured mahogany veneer, and rounded corners over ogee base molding and straight bracket feet; brass escutcheons in center of front; interior divided with thin mahogany vertical dividers into three rectangular sections across front, with center section slightly wider than side sections, with narrow rear section, only about 1" deep, across full width of back; interior of lid lined with modern green felt; three rectangular black tins in the three interior sections; end tins have flat tops with projecting cylindrical neck and lids; center tin has domed top.
