DescriptionDish with 2 1/8" triple reed rim, reverse bead and hammered booge, within well and on rim face crude wriggle work decoration consisting of conventionalized flowers, rose, tulips, and other unidentifiable forms.Inscription(s)Owner's initial "A" stamped on face of rim opposite pseudo hallmarks.Mark(s)Touch mark a rose with crown above and "8" to the left and "8" to the right framed by "DX ROE" within a curved reserve above and by crossed palm fronds at the sides and below within a shaped vertical oval on underside of rim (Peal MPM 4007A). Pseudo hallmarks (1) buckle, (2) leopard's head, (3) lion rampant, and (4) "DR" with indistinct devices above and below, each within a separate shield on face of rim (Peal MPM 4007A).ProvenanceVendor: A.H.
