DescriptionDish extremely narrow horizontal rim with multiply reeded face and plain underside; short inward-sloping hammered booge to broad flat center.Label TextEven though narrow-rimmed plates survive in appreciable numbers, narrow-rimmed dishes are very scarce indeed. They appear not to have been made as large as contemporary dishes with rims of conventional width. The largest recorded example measures just over sixteen inches in diameter. The secondary mark on this dish includes the initials of William and Mary flanking the royal crown, dating this dish during their joint reign between 1689 and 1694.Inscription(s)NoneMark(s)Touch mark incorporating, in part, a crown with King's name within a curved reserve above and palm fronds to either side below on underside of well. Secondary mark a rose with crown above and "WR [conjoined]" to the left and "MR [conjoined]" to the right within a conforming reserve on underside of well.
