DescriptionParasol cover made of fine, white linen in 8 sections, Tambour crewel wool embroidery in greens, rose, pink, and purple. Floral sprays twine upward and encircle the domed crown, with similar flowering-vine forming a scrolling border around the outside edge. The later frame is of tubular brass with U-shaped metal ribs; handle is made of bamboo with two filigree brass ferrules.

Construction History:
1. 1800-1825: Parasol cover embroidered and constructed
2. Ca. 1852: New metal frame added
3. July 1958 (LoNano): New silk lining added to metal frame; Silk ruffles replaced at parasol interior; washed and restored fabric; straightened parasol stays
